A Message to Our Taxpayers: Improving Transparency and Efficiency

We believe this is an excellent time to reach out and share some of the meaningful improvements our office has made to better serve the taxpayers and strengthen our county’s financial position.

We are proud to report that we’ve increased our investment income by over 1000%. This growth has generated hundreds of thousands of dollars, reducing the amount that needs to be raised through property taxes to overcome the shortfall from other revenue sources for the county.

Our office recently undertook a major upgrade to the county’s accounting software. This transition brings us into full alignment with governmental accounting standards, improving accuracy, efficiency, and long-term sustainability. Even better, we secured federal grant funding to help pay for this critical project.

One of our top priorities is making government more accessible and transparent. We’ve made all our key financial reports available online. We’ve also made it possible for you to view and print your tax bills directly from our website.

Your trust matters to us. We’re committed to being good stewards of public funds and keeping you informed every step of the way.
