The Office of the White County Circuit Clerk is a state constitutional officer elected by the citizens of White County for a four year term.  It is an office of the Judicial Branch of Illinois State government. 

The Circuit Clerk's office is committed to serving the citizens of White County and all participants in the judicial system in timely, efficient, and competent manner. 


The White County Circuit Clerk’s Office maintains all Circuit Court records and connects the judicial system and the public. The Clerk provides court records to people in the court system and also makes these records available to the public.


Primary duties of the Circuit Clerk

  • Official recordkeeper: They maintain all court records and the official court seal, including documents for civil, criminal, family, and traffic cases.
  • Administrative support: They assist judges by collecting fees, processing paperwork, and issuing court processes like subpoenas and citations.
  • Financial management: They collect and disburse all court-ordered fines, fees, and penalties to the appropriate entities like the county, state, and municipalities.
  • Jury management: They are responsible for summoning grand and petit jurors and storing submitted evidence from jury trials.
  • Record certification: They certify and prepare records for cases that are appealed to a higher court.
  • Public interface: They provide public access to court records and assist the public with court-related information.

  • Per Illinois Supreme Court Order M.R. 18368: Effective January 1, 2018, all civil cases shall be E-Filed in the trial courts. 
  • This is for all attorneys and self-represented litigants
